Customs Duties & Import Taxes

Last Updated: 2024

At Kenshō Cards, we aim to provide transparent information regarding international shipping and customs procedures. Please read the details below carefully before placing your order.

Do I Have to Pay Customs Duties or Import Taxes?

Depending on your country’s customs regulations, your shipment may be subject to import taxes, VAT, duties, or handling fees upon arrival. These charges are collected by your local customs office—not by Kenshō Cards.

Can You Declare a Lower Value to Avoid Taxes?

No. For legal and compliance reasons, we must declare the accurate value of the items you purchased. We cannot undervalue packages or mark them as “gifts.”

How Are Customs Fees Calculated?

Customs fees depend on several factors, including:

  • Your country’s customs laws
  • The total value of your order
  • The type of goods being imported
  • Local VAT or GST rates

Please contact your local customs office for exact details.

What Happens if I Refuse to Pay Customs Fees?

If you refuse to pay the required import taxes, your package may be:

  • Returned to us
  • Destroyed by customs
  • Held indefinitely

Refunds are only possible if the item is safely returned to us in original condition. Shipping fees are non-refundable.

Who Is Responsible for Customs Delays?

Once your order leaves Japan, customs clearance is handled by your local authorities. Kenshō Cards is not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections or processing times.
